The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) organized an orientation program for its postgraduate students. The event was held on Saturday (May 2) in the CSE department’s seminar room, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Abdur Razzak as the chief guest.
Addressing the students, he emphasized that there is no alternative to research in the current era. He urged postgraduate students to contribute through research and help elevate RUET to the top tiers of the QS rankings.
According to information provided by the CSE department, a total of 106 applicants applied for admission to the postgraduate program. Based on merit, 21 students were selected for enrollment from among those who participated in the admission test.
The program was chaired by the Head of the CSE Department, Professor Dr. Md. Shahid Uz Zaman. Other speakers included Professor Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Professor Dr. Robiul Islam Sarkar, Director of Student Welfare; and Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleq, Director of Research and Extension. The event was moderated by Assistant Professor Azmain Yakin Srizon of the CSE Department.
